Amazon review: 5.0 out of 5 stars I watched it all in one day..., January 14, 2008 By N. Thomas "LibraryFiend" - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) This review is from: Lilies (DVD) ...so addicted was I to the next turn of the plot!
"Lilies" follows the lives of the Moss family, led by Nelson "Dadda", comprised of son William (Billy) and daughters Iris, May, and Ruby. Mrs. Mary Moss has been dead approximately 15 years and Iris, the eldest, has become the lady of the house. Dadda works as an amateur veterinarian and herbalist. Iris creates confections and sells them to a local sweets store. May is in service to the nouveau-riche Mr. and Mrs. Brazendale. Ruby, William's twin and the youngest, just starts into peddling women's corsets at the beginning of the series.

My grandson recently told me about the 39 Clues books. I'd never heard of them and asked him if they were mystery books.
I know he loves reading Encyclopedia Brown books and other who-dunits.
He said it wasn't really a mystery but a brother and sister whose grandmother leaves them a million dollars or a clue in her will. Sounds intriguing! There are 10 books in all.
After researching these books, I think I'll have to read them! On Amazon, the first book, The Haze of Bones, shown here, has a 4.3-star rating out of 5 stars. Comments all remark on how they can't wait to start the next book.

Sometimes I love to just have a lunch of what my mom called "little dabs." She would pull out everything from the refrigerator including leftovers, pickles, opened containers like cottage cheese, and we'd all choose from the assortment what to eat.
And if we finished them all, Mom would say, "It'll be a fair day tomorrow!" I don' know why, but that's what she said.
Here's my latest Little Dabs lunch: half a red bell pepper, sliced beets, kidney beans, crackers, pickles, cottage cheese, and olives from the bottom of the barrel. Yum!
Use the following organic materials (peels, cores, leftovers, rotten, you get the idea) to make organic fertilizer:
apples avocados bananas carrots cucumbers grapefruit, oranges, lemons peppers potatoes strawberries coffee grounds and filters (unbleached filters are best) eggshells cardboard egg cartons dryer lint, from natural fabrics like cotton and linen newspapers shredded paper, white paper with black ink leaves and grass clippings peat moss chicken, horse, or rabbit manure
Using these composting tips won't guarantee a great-producing garden, but they will help gardeners make good fertilizer that makes the harvest safe for their family to eat. Young children can toss food scraps into compost piles, and older children can help turn the compost, aerating it so the materials break down faster producing good compost quickly.

I made this blue Monster Baby and a lot of Cats like this yellowish orange one from the two separate projects in Microcrafts. They are easy felt projects that take very little materials and very little time to whip up.
For the Monster Baby, I used blue and white felt and black thread. And not much of either one.
For the Cat, I used orange felt and black thread. Again, just a tiny bit of each.
I used one cotton ball to stuff about five of these guys. They are itsy bitsy.
